The first release in 4 years finds Warren Franklin a changed band. Franklin and returning Joie De Vivre members Brandon Lutmer and Stewart Oakes have dropped the cumbersome 'Founding Fathers' moniker- and with it, found a refined touch. Each song itself could be a standalone single, toting catchy hooks and smart arrangements- yet fit together well as one collection. The next era of Warren Franklin is here, and is it ever.

Song 1 features Max Bemis of Say Anything.

1.
I get to a place that feels okay quitting I’d have you meet me there but it's already your home you said you loved me on a dark and hazy night I knew it wasn't true but I asked to remember it right I get so bored of being sad if we make it through January will you meet me there in the morning when your hand reaches for my hand timidly at first to calm your shaky nerves felt like myself again, I thanked you for that feeling specific silences like when a record ends
2.
I missed your call some early morning hour I never did forgive myself am I naive to think I could've changed it or held anyone accountable I don't know it's the same idea that you loved and you won't forget it's a shame my dear that you have me and second guess now spent a whole damn year in-between wondering if you'd ever come back to me every time I lose you again so I treat every moment like it's the end and I wait for a time that will never come
3.
I went back to the park where we walked through all the lights it's dim now the lights have all gone out I found that so fitting like it left with us I can't slow the night is all but gone as we... move to the sound of nearing morning now I’ll try and prove to you how what we're ignoring is all I’ve waited for and a future that I wish could exist you say you really love me but I’ll never understand time will tell and time will take and time will force your hand you say loves not worth it you just end up alone and in the same whim suggest we share a home and I loved you for it though it wears me down I’d do anything to forget that feeling now as we... move to the sound of nearing morning now I’ll try and prove to you how when we're ignoring is all I’ve waited for and a future that I wish could exist

Second April 03:39
it’s new year’s eve in the midwest I’m unsuccessfully trying to leave I don't want to bear the lie of a room full of joy when you can't be beside me I’m holding on to second april nights I couldn't help trading all my time if memory serves me right I had a plan to keep in hand I would stay up all night reading in calm, you fast asleep beside me and it held that common thread with what was said strung along with every move they're counting down in the other room I probably should go join them soon to return to nothing at all
